Vaginal and Uterine Microbiomes during Puerperium in Dairy Cows

چکیده
Knowledge of how vaginal and uterine microbiomes are composed is essential to prevent diseases understand their pathogenesis. For this purpose, 50 dairy cows were involved in a prospective trial. Cows clinically examined swabs taken (day 2, 4, 6 14 p.p.), followed up by clinical examination on day 21 ± 1 41 1. All samples (n = 364) analyzed with cultural bacteriological methods bacteria identified MALDI-TOF MS. In animals pathological puerperium, bacterial diversity was reduced the genera Fusobacteria spp., Bacteroides spp. Helcococcus occurred significantly more frequently. By contrast, other well-known pathogens such as Escherichia Trueperella pyogenes did not show significant differences between healthy diseased cattle. Bacterial occurrences vagina uterus sometimes correlated. that suffered from puerperal disorders showed lower incidence coagulase- negative staphylococci even before symptoms occurred. This may point towards protective role microbiome. addition, we discuss several shortcomings calving hygiene might have contributed high percentage study farm (58.7%).

Postpartum uterine diseases in dairy cows
Uterine diseases in dairy cows can be classified as puerperal metritis, clinical metritis, clinical endometritis, and subclinical endometritis. These diseases are highly prevalent (affect between 20 and 30% of dairy cows) in high producing dairy cows and have been associated with decreased pregnancy per artificial insemination (AI), extended interval to pregnancy, increased culling, and economi...

Reproductive inefficiency in cattle has major impacts on overall productivity of cattle operations, increasing cost of production, and impacting the sustainability of the cattle enterprise. Decreased reproductive success and associated disease states have been correlated with the presence of specific microbes and microbial community profiles, yet details of the relationship between microbial co...

Uterine infection is a major problem in reproductive management and inefficient estrous detection. The bovine uterus is sterile before calving and the cervix provides a barrier against intrauterine invasion by pathogens during gestation1. Following calving, the uterus may become infected due to presence of infectious or non-specific microorganisms. Several bacterial, protozoan, viral and mycopl...

OBJECTIVES AND AIM The objective of this study was to determine the origin of an arched back in cows during vaginal examination. Moreover, we tested whether the duration of an arched back and avoidance reactions during vaginal examination can be decreased by epidural anaesthesia or analgesic treatment. MATERIAL AND METHODS Behaviour during cleaning of the perivaginal region and during vaginal...

This paper intended to review the lameness in dairy cattle. But it was necessary to have an overview about the hoof anatomical structure, it's growth and overgrowth properties. Most common causes of lameness such as laminitis and its different clinical form or presentation such as sole ulcers, toe ulcers, white line disorders, sole and white linehemorrhages have been reviewed and discussed. ...
